HON. JUSTICE M. L. OWOLABI
Biography
Honourable Justice Mohammed Lekan Owolabi was born on the 1st April, 1968 in Accra, Republic of Ghana, a native of Saki, in Saki West Local Government Area. Oyo State. He obtained his Primary Education at Parapo Community Grammer School. Oyo from 1981 – 1986, and further attended Ansar UD Deen High School, Saki. Oyo state where he obtained his A Level certificate in 1988. He obtained he LLB Degree from the Obafemi Awolowo University in 1992, proceeded to the Nigerian Law School, and was called to the Nigerian Bar as a qualified Solicitor and Advocate of Nigeria in 1993.
Honourable Justice Mohammed Lekan Owolabi has served as a Secretary and Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association of Nigeria, Ibandan Branch. And was called to bench as a Judge in on the 27th of May, 2013.
As a Judge, Honourable Justice Mohammed Lekan Owolabi has served in various ad hoc committees of the Oyo state Judiciary:
- Member, committee on Selection of Eligible Officers of Oyo State Judiciary to attend both Local and International Conferences for the year 2015 and 2016.
- Committee on Review on High Court (Civil Procedure Rules) of Oyo state.
- Committee on Formulation of Rules for the Implementation of Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Oyo State.
During his 9 years at the bench, he has served at Ibadan Judicial Division from June – September 2013, Oyo Judicial Division from 2013 to 2016, Ibadan Judicial Division from 2016 to 2019, and currently at Ogbomoso Judicial Division.
